This Spring 2025, Strive Soccer Academy is proud to introduce The Academy—a high-intensity training program designed to give young athletes the best possible development environment. We’re bringing elite, proven training methods to Surrey, ensuring that every player has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Unlike many programs where kids stand in lines, go through repetitive drills, and barely touch the ball, The Academy follows a structured European-style development model that prioritizes:
High-repetition training with 1,000-2,000 touches per session,
Small-sided games (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4) that improve decision-making, technical ability, and creativity,
Problem-solving in a constraints-based environment, teaching players to adapt and think quickly,
A holistic approach to development, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth.
What to Expect in The Academy
Our training is designed to maximize player development in an engaging, high-performance setting. Each week, players will participate in:
75-Minute High-Intensity Training Session – Focused on technical skill development, tactical awareness, and physical conditioning. Every session is structured to give players the real-game skills they need to excel.
75-Minute Small-Sided Gameplay – The best players in the world developed their skills in small-sided environments where they’re constantly engaged. More action means more touches, better decision-making, and faster development.
Written Player Development Plan (Spring Program) – Players will receive written feedback outlining strengths, areas for improvement, and steps to take their game to the next level.
Skill-Based Grouping* – All new players will be assessed on Day 1 and placed in the most appropriate training tier based on their skill level. This ensures that every player is challenged appropriately and has the opportunity to move up or down based on progress.
* Bio-banding at Strive Academy ensures that players are grouped based on their physical and developmental stage rather than just age. This allows for fairer competition, reduces injury risk, and creates an environment where players can develop confidence and skills at the right pace. By prioritizing development over arbitrary age brackets, we ensure every player gets the best opportunity to grow, compete, and reach their full potential.
